Having used Xero for our own business and supported countless businesses using that and other cloud software such as Quickbooks, we’re firm advocates of the move from manual records.

The real transformations can come though from the adoption of business specific Apps.

Whether it’s Dext (formerly ReceiptBank), Go Cardless, Fluidly or one of over 800 that are now available for Xero alone, the right App can save huge amounts of time, increase accuracy and improve cashflow. And when you combine them to make an Appstack that’s tailored to your requirements, life just gets easier still!

With the number of Apps available though, careful thought and selection is needed.

Paying monthly for an App that you integrate but then don’t use won’t be any help at all. Worse still, paying and investing the time in setting up the wrong App, that doesn’t quite do what you need it to, just undermines the intention and makes you reluctant to do so again.

In this section we’re aiming to build on the information we’ve outlined in our Software services page. We’ll cover some of the Apps that we’ve found have helped our clients and will explain what the primary benefits are.

Because the majority of our clients are using either Xero or Quickbooks, we’ll tend to look at Apps that work best with those platforms, but as time passes, hopefully some of the other accounting packages will catch up!

The first section below includes links to our App-related ‘Rebound Resources’, designed during Lockdown to help businesses rebound after months of restrictions and, in many cases, prolonged periods of closure. Whilst we hope that there is no return to those dark days, the value in these resources remains, and we hope the information is helpful.
