Business Valuation, Purchase, Exit, Sale & Succession
Many business owners set up and build a business from scratch. The growth period can be bumpy, with periods of slow progress. It’s no surprise then that many decide to purchase an existing business, which can springboard you to a point that may be closer to your goal.
Other people build a business to a point at which they want to sell up, or hand the business on. Perhaps they are ready to retire, feel they’ve taken it as far as is possible for them, or purely want to change direction. They may have family ready or at least willing, to step into their shoes, or may need to find an external party to sell to.
Whichever may apply to you, if any, there are lots of things to think about!
Not least how much a business is worth, which will be so key to the decisions that will be made. It’s often said that any business is ‘only worth what a buyer will pay for it’, but there are ways to make a business look more appealing, and over the years we’ve helped many businesses improve their chances of a successful sale, and helped buyers complete purchases too.
In this section of our Info Centre, we’ll include posts around the processes involved and the points of which to be wary. If you’re considering a purchase, sale or would like to value your business, please get in touch.

Can I just say we are so pleased that we have moved to Baranov Associates. As we discussed when you visited, we had to find a way to take the stress out of all of the financials and youโre doing that for us! We can see how to use Xero more efficiently and so with us being as on top of it as we can be and with you and Liz we feel a lot more confident about our business being in good shape.
