New Online tools to improve Cyber Security

Cyber-Security, News,

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has launched new online tools that make cybersecurity more accessible and easier to manage for the UK’s smallest businesses and sole traders. The new services form part of the latest phase of its Cyber Aware campaign.

The Cyber Action Plan is a simple yet powerful online tool that small business owners can complete in under five minutes. It provides tailored advice on how to improve your cybersecurity, based on your unique situation. The tool is designed to be easy to use and accessible, even for non-tech users.

The Check Your Cyber Security tool could also be really helpful. Accessible via the Cyber Action Plan, this tool can be used by any small organisation. It enables you to identify and fix cybersecurity issues within your business, without needing to be technically minded.

Small businesses are increasingly the target of cybercriminals, so the new tools are a timely reminder to all of us to ensure we’re doing all that we can in terms of protection. Government statistics included in the latest Cyber Breaches survey show that 38% of small businesses in the UK suffered a cyberattack in the preceding 12 months.

The range of these attacks can vary widely, from business email compromise to denial of service and ransomware attacks. By taking advantage of these new online tools, the NCSC says small business owners can take proactive steps to protect their businesses from cyber threats.
