Companies House Filing Fees are changing!

Limited Company, News,

Companies House have announced changes to their Filing Fees from 1st May 2024. No explanation has been given beyond their annual review being due, but the increases are significant.

In most cases there is a difference in the fee for digital filing and paper filing, although both are increasing.

We will of course be charged the increased rates for things like Confirmation Statements that we submit on clients’ behalf, so will as usual pass on the charges as we incur them, without any admin fee or uplift. We raise our invoices for these fees once they appear on our monthly invoice from Companies House, so they will be reflected in our invoice for the end of May, that we’ll invoice in June.

Ones to watch for…

The most obvious increased filing fee that will affect clients is for the annual Confirmation Statement, the fee for which is increasing to £34 for digital submissions, having previously been £13. Paper submissions will attract a £62 filing fee in future.

The other fee that is increasing dramatically is for the voluntary strike off of a company, which was previously £8 and will now be increasing to £33, again for digital submissions. Paper submissions will attract a £44 filing fee.

You can see the full list of increased filing fees here.

These are not the only changes that are looming for Confirmation Statements. This post outlines the changes that will take effect from the 4th March 2024 that you should also be aware of.

As ever, if you’ve got any questions about the above, or any aspect of filing at Companies House, please get in touch.
