Xero’s new Navigation and Homepage

News, Xero,

Xero is rolling out a redesigned navigation and homepage, formerly the Dashboard, to help small business owners manage daily tasks more efficiently, with customisable widgets and a cleaner, more intuitive layout. This post summarises Xero’s announcement so you can be prepared for the changes, and understand why they’ve been made…

Key Changes in Xero’s New Navigation

1 Easier Navigation

The new navigation uses simpler labels and logical groupings, so it’s easier to find the features needed for everyday business tasks.

2 Customisable Homepage

Users can now show, hide, and move around widgets to personalise their homepage, prioritising what matters most, whether that’s invoices, bank reconciliation, or profit and loss tracking.

3 New and Improved Widgets

There are fresh widgets for daily tasks, recently paid invoices, and profit/loss reports, along with updated classics. This aims to put important information and actions at owners’ fingertips, saving valuable time.

4 Built with Feedback

More than 30,000 beta testers have influenced the amended design and functionality, with the aim of ensuring the new look genuinely meets business needs. Beta testing will continue, with a wider rollout expected by the end of the year.

5 Cleaner, Modern Look

Xero says the interface has been refreshed for simplicity and readability, helping users focus on essential business metrics and actions.

How Small Businesses Benefit

  • Find key tools quicker with intuitive navigation.
  • See critical business numbers at a glance, making it easy to spot tasks that need attention.
  • Customise the dashboard for greater efficiency; see only what’s relevant each day.
  • Enhanced widgets let owners track performance and cashflow more easily.

A demonstration video is available on the official Xero page, if you’d like to see the new features in action, or you can see a quick ‘how-to’ guide from Xero here.
