Budget 2024 Date Announced

Budget, HMRC,

The Treasury has announced that Jeremy Hunt will deliver his Spring Budget on Wednesday 6th March 2024. It will include the Government’s tax and spending plans, as well as updated growth and borrowing forecasts. This will include economic forecasts from the Office of Budget Responsibility (OBR).

With a General Election falling due before the end of January 2025 at the very latest, this could be the last opportunity for major changes to tax policy as the Conservatives seek re-election.

There have been hints recently around major tax cuts, driven by pressure from Tory MPs, as well as announcements around housing to help First Time Buyers.

The abolition of Inheritance Tax is also still being reported as a possibility.

Whatever the outcome of the Budget 2024, the date is now firmly in our diaries, and as always we’ll keep you informed on the announcements made, and the implications they’ll have on your affairs.
